I am a full time student that also works full time. The constant pressure to meet deadlines in both work and school has helped me to be more organized in my everyday life. Being more organized allows you to work smarter not harder, and in turn be more efficient. I have spent some time volunteering with troubled teens at Decker Lake Youth Correctional Facility. We help to promote stress management as a healthy release instead of resorting to violence. This learning opportunity has enlightened me that no matter what I learn, you must remain open to new ideas, and the teacher can always learn something new. More recently I have enjoyed spending my free time with Best Friends and the Salt Lake County Animal Services, Kitten Crusaders program, bottle feeding abandoned kittens. This experience has been very rewarding and has opened my eyes to the good in people. It also reenforces responsibility, teamwork, communication and organization.
